Fiberglass insulation is a man-made construction material used to limit thermal changes, as well as sound transmission, in buildings.
It is composed of bundles of very thin strands of glass, which has a high surface area-to-weight ratio that makes it a lightweight, cost-effective, and practical option for both residential and commercial applications. There are two types of fiberglass insulation: loose-fill (blown in) and batt (blanket) insulation for attics and walls.
Open / Closed Cell
The Open cell foam spray insulation is a 0.5lb/cu.ft. insulation formulated from renewable agricultural resources that is sprayed in place with an environmentally-friendly water blown agent by specially trained contractors.
Closed cell foam insulation is a environmentally friendly foam product that controls moisture and air infiltration while providing energy savings and a new level of comfort. It has a density of 2.0 lb./cubic ft. and a R-value of 6.5 inch over open cell foam’s 3.8 per inch.
Injection spray foam makes it easy to retro fit older homes, attics and finished basements that lack insulation with spray foam insulation.
Injection foam requires drilling small (usually 1″) holes in the wall cavity so that the foam may be injected. Injection foam will fill voids and cavities around electrical wiring, plumbing and windows without having to remove plaster or drywall.
